Keine DHTML Editor Controls in Vista!?
Da entfährt mir doch glatt ein spontanes WTF!? - Hier wird erklärt, dass die seit Unzeiten in Windows und IE vorhandenen ActiveX Controls als Grundlage für WYSIWYG Editoren einfach ersatzlos entfallen. Das betrifft sowohl Windows-basierte Editoren als auch Web-basierte Applikationen. Ein wirklich zufriedenstellendes "Warum" fehlt völlig. Das hier ist für mich zumindest nicht ausreichend:
"To increase security, the browser restricts access to potentially dangerous content, but the editor focuses on ensuring that its changing content is safe to persist. Several security bulletins resulted in a more locked-down browser environment, which reduced the utility of the DHTML Editing Control and raised its cost of ownership significantly. The decision was therefore made to remove the control from Windows Vista."
Man könne ja einfach ein MSI zum Nachinstallieren runterladen. D.h. für Windows Vista Benutzer werden diverse Software Pakete (HTML Editoren z.b.) und Web Sites (Writely, diverse CMSs, etc.) einfach nicht mehr funktionieren. Hurra! :(
